I'm on my way back from Costa Rica. I went there with Kelly Slater, Shane Dorian,Ross Williams and the photographer Pat Stacy. We hooked up there with floridian legends Jim Hogan and Charly Kuhn who took care of us. We didn't surf much, we spent most of of the time watching ants at work and squirrels in the trees...
Costa Rica is a beautifull country and people are really friendly, mucho gusto!

I spent few hours with the two surfbaords shapers from Euroglass in Hossegor: Christiaan Bradley and Mark Phipps. They are both shaping boards for some of the biggest names in professionnal surfing. This little clip is just a quick test, but I guess filming those kind of people working is very inspiring.
How funny are sometimes the coincidences of the calendar! I put my feet on the south African soil just few hours after the entire world was celebrating the biggest sports event worlwide: the FIFA world cup. Once again (like the 36 first years of my life) I was late. Instead of living the raw energy of such a huge event, I was discovering the all country with a bad hangover. The party is over my friend, you are going on the wrong way, everybody is leaving, why are just arriving now? Why? Because the second most confidential sport after curling, after to months of break, was back in the business. the 4th stop of the ASP "not really dream anymore" Tour was in Jeffreys Bay... right after the soccer World Cup. Common poor surfers, come and get the leftovers of the party, go get yourself your vuvuzela on sale, but please do it quick, because we need to rest. That is why the contest was runned in the first 4 days of the waiting period, just time for us to saty there less than a week, drink 379 beers and jump in a plane back home....
Who gives a fuck about surfing?
We just shot yesterday the intro of the new Quiksilver europe team movie at the Boardrider of Capbreton which host a real barber shop. Thanks to Jeremy Flores for his patience and thanks to Daniel Germain for welcoming us there! Check out soon for some more news about this project.

EL pero errante, my good friend Eric Rebiere, has his own blog now. Totally Eric's style: messy, crazy and super funny! have a look at it! And if you want to know why he's calling himself "le chien errant", ask my dogs... they have been sharing the same bed for few weeks!
